That’s according to Get More Sports’ Chris Sheridan, who claims Beal has informed Washington of his wishes.
It was reported last week that Washington had made all their stars available on potential trade talks, including John Wall and Beal.
It follows on from a disastrous start to the season, which has seen them drop to 7-12 for the campaign.
Beal is seen as the more attractive trade option to other teams due to his age and contract situation.
The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers have been among those teams said to be interested in putting together a package to sign the 25-year-old.
And they have received a huge boost with news that Beal wants to leave Washington.
“Source: @RealDealBeal23 has made it known in no uncertain terms that he wants out of Washington pronto,” Sheridan tweeted.
The Lakers would likely have to give up a few of their talented young players in such a deal if they were to make a move.
Boston likewise would also have to look at shipping players such as Jaylen Brown.
But former NBA star Jalen Rose believes the Celtics should consider using Kyrie Irving in any trade talks to see what they can get.
“I’m suggesting that in the dynamic of this team and the way it is built nobody can be untouchable for me except Tatum,” Rose said on Jalen & Jacoby.
“If I have to parlay one or two of my good young players and Kyrie Irving who is probably my number one asset into getting another perennial All-Star that allows me to still cultivate the style of play that I have.
“Rozier has shown he can be a starting point guard, you’ve already paid Marcus Smart and late in games guess what they’re doing, offence for defence substitutions.
“Guess what other top points guard in the league ain’t doing. Sitting on the bench because of substitution patterns.
“So you try to see what you can garner in return.
“This is not in any way, shape or form disparaging his game, I’m just saying as a Celtics team that made it to the Conference Finals without him, maybe you can use him as a piece that could put you over the top.”
