Anthony Davis to Celtics trade
Anthony Davis remains the only player the Boston Celtics would be considering trading for, although Bradley Beal may prove too good of an opportunity to miss.
That’s the opinion of ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, who believes Beal would be a great fit on the Celtics.
Boston were backed as the favourites in the Eastern Conference heading into the new season but they have been disappointing thus far.
Celtics general manager Danny Ainge has shown in the past he is not afraid to make a move in order to help his team.
And if their problems on the court continue to persist, Ainge could potentially look at possible trades.
But while Bontemps admits Beal would look good alongside Kyrie Irving, he thinks Davis still remains the No 1 target for Boston if they were to make a trade.
“I mean Boston would be pretty great,” Bontemps said on The Hoop Collective podcast.
“But I think they are saving all their powder for a potential Anthony Davis trade.”
Kyrie Irving slammed
Kyrie Irving will have to cope with the legacy of failing to lead his own tea if the Boston Celtics do not make the NBA Finals.
That’s the strong opinion of ESPN’s Max Kellerman, who points to Boston’s dismal start to the season.
“Right now he’s not doing it,” Kellerman said.
“He has time to figure it out and I’m not saying it’s not going to happen, but that’s who it’s going to fall on.
“History will record that Kyrie Irving went to the Celtics, it was his team, he was the best player on the team and he either could or couldn’t lead those guys to at least the Finals.”
Lakers free agency worry
The Los Angeles Lakers are playing a risky game by choosing to wait until the 2019 free agency market instead of trying to trade for players such as Bradley Beal or Anthony Davis.
That’s according to NBA writer Kevin O’Connor, who claims the Lakers risk missing out on top targets Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard and Klay Thompson.
“With the way their cap space situation breaks down they wouldn’t be able to create max cap space or it would be extremely, extremely difficult to do with Beal,” O’Connor said on The Ringer.
“With that said, there may not be a lot of options for them this summer.
“If Klay stays in Golden State; if KD goes to New York or stays in Golden State himself.
“You’re looking at Kawhi Leonard. From what I’ve heard the Clippers are the more favourable option for him so where does that leave you?”
