STANDING ROCK, N.D. – NBA player Kyrie Irving is coming home to Standing Rock.
Even though the Boston Celtics star was born in Australia, he has roots in North Dakota.
The 2012 rookie of the year and Olympic gold medalist’s mother and grandmother were citizens of the Standing Rock tribe.
Irving has a tattoo of the Standing Rock logo and his Nike N7 shoe pays tribute to the tribe and his mother.
Irving will appear at Prairie Knights Pavilion August 23 at 9:00 a.m. The public is encouraged to attend.
