Redshirt senior forward Abdel Nader blocks Iona’s senior guard Isaiah Williams in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on March 17 at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Nader played for 25 minutes and made 19 points, leading the Cyclones to win 94-81. Iowa State will play Arkansas-Little Rock on March 19 in Denver.

The Boston Celtics originally planned on waiving former Cyclone Abdel Nader, but the Celtics worked out a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday instead.

The trade was first reported by Shams Charania, and the Thunder General Manager and Executive Vice President Sam Presti announced the news shortly after.

The trade sends Nader and cash considerations to the Thunder for Rodney Purvis.
